Since the 6th grade, Aaron has performed with many school ensembles including jazz bands, mariachi bands, choirs, orchestras, and even a rock band. As a senior in high school, he placed 5th in the state on jazz guitar, and 3rd in the state, at the 4A level, on French Horn at the Texas Association of Music Educators All-State auditions.
Aaron attended Del Mar College and Texas A&M University where as a freshman he made the All-State Jr. College Jazz Band. Aaron played with the Del Mar College and Texas A&M University jazz bands and guitar ensembles, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors degree in Classical Guitar Performance under the direction of Philip Hii. Upon graduation, Aaron performed with several bands in the South Texas area and at numerous venues throughout South Texas. He also expanded his teaching career to encompass Alice, Banquete, and Corpus Christi before returning to school.
Aaron is currently completing a masters degree in jazz studies at the prestigious University of North Texas where he has played with the 8 O Clock lab band, 335 Jazz Guitar Ensemble, and U-Tubes Trombone Ensemble. He has studied with guitar greats Fred Hamilton and Noel Johnston.
Aaron has attended numerous master classes and workshops with guitar greats such as world renowned flamenco guitarist, Juan Serrano and jazz greats, Jack Peterson and Dave Stryker. His studies have covered many genres of music including classical, jazz, latin, and rock, and have taken him to various cities and states including Texas, Florida, Utah, and Kentucky.
Aaron currently lives in Denton TX and teaches and plays with the FBC Worship and Arts program in Mckinney, TX and with any others that call.
